Brendan Rodgers has explained why Liverpool pulled the plug on a deal to sign Loic Remy.
The France international was reported to be on the verge of completing a £8.5m switch to the Reds after flying the USA.
However, it emerged that Liverpool had called off the deal on Sunday after an issue came to light during the striker’s medical.
And Rodgers, who has already signed five players this summer, told Reds supporters that the club would turn to other targets.
“It’s very simple,” Rodgers said. “We’ve made a decision as a club not go ahead with the deal.
“It’s unfortunate for the player and we’re disappointed for him. We have to move on though and look at other targets.”
