Liverpool transfers: Lazar Markovic hints at Reds deal with Facebook post

Lazar Markovic looks set to be confirmed as a Liverpool player this week after the Serbian starlet bid farewell to Benfica on Facebook.

The 20-year-old winger is thought be on the verge of a £20m move to Anfield from the Portuguese club and appeared to confirm that he is on his way out via a post on the social network.

“Thank you for everything and goodbye!” Markovic wrote on Sunday morning, which he accompanied with a picture of him in a Benfica shirt waving to the crowd.

Markovic scored five goals in 26 league games for Benfica last season and is rated as one of Serbia’s top prospects after helping his side win the league last term.
