Markovic impressed for Benfica during their title-winning campaign, with the forward scoring five goals and making two assists in 26 top-flight appearances.
And Serbia head coach Drulovic is tipping former Partizan Belgrade star to develop into a “very important” European player.
“Markovic made an excellent season at Benfica last year, he evolved a lot,” Drulovic is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
“It’ll be good for him and Benfica. Going to a very strong league will help him even more to become a major player worldwide.
“He’s 20 years old and has a long time to play. Markovic could prove to become a very important player in Europe.”
