Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Xherdan Shaqiri after Bayern Munich ruled out selling the Swiss international this summer.
The Reds were thought to be close to securing a £15m deal for the 22-year-old winger as Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his attacking options following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

“There are no thoughts at all about selling him.”
Shaqiri scored six goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich last season.
