Rio Ferdinand believes that Toni Kroos’ imminent arrival at Real Madrid will help the Spanish giants win the La Liga title next season.

The Germany midfielder, who has also been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, is on the verge of securing a transfer to the Bernabeu as he enters the final year of his Bayern Munich contract.

And former United defender Ferdinand feels that Kroos, 24, will be a top signing for Los Blancos.

Ferdinand tweeted: “If Toni Kroos signs for Real Madrid they will win the league again & minimum semi’s in CL….him alongside [Luka] Modric though.”

Kroos recently confirmed that he is on the verge of joining Carlo Ancelotti’s side, telling AS while on holiday: “Tomorrow or in the next few days I will go to Real Madrid.”

And Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “Nothing is official yet, however he could be sold for a certain fee.

“I can confirm that Toni and us are in talks with Real Madrid.”

Kroos scored two goals and made four assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich last season.
