Carlo Ancelotti insists Angel di Maria has a future at Real Madrid despite increased competition for places at the Champions League winners.

The 26-year-old is being linked with a move to Arsenal, Juventus, Manchester United and Monaco despite helping Madrid win their much-coveted 10th European Cup in May.

Madrid manager Ancelotti signed Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez in the past week, further pushing Di Maria down the pecking order at los Blancos.

But the former Chelsea manager urged the Argentina international to stay and prove his worth at the Spanish club amid interest from the Premier League.

“He (Di Maria) is a Real Madrid player. He will arrive (at training) on August 5,” Ancelotti is quoted as saying.

“With the signings of Rodriguez and Kroos there is more competition in the centre of the pitch, but that’s how it is at the big clubs.

“Competition is energy and last season we had problems in the final part of the season.”

Di Maria scored four goals and made 17 assists in 34 La Liga appearances last season.
