Edinson Cavani has urged Paris Saint-Germain to sign Real Madrid forward Angel di Maria this summer.

The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League amid interest from FA Cup winners Arsenal and Manchester United.

Di Maria was part of Argentina’s squad which reached the World Cup final, although the 26-year-old didn’t feature in the 1-0 loss to Germany in the showpiece.

And Cavani, who has also been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, said that he would welcome Di Maria’s arrival at Princes de Parc this summer.

“We are always looking to add new elements to the team. Angel di Maria is of high quality, a fantastic player. He would be welcome in the team,” Cavani told l’Equipe.

Earlier on Thursday, Cavani insisted that he was happy to stay at PSG despite being linked with a big-money transfer to the Red Devils.

“I’m certain that I’ll stay – why wouldn’t I?” Cavani told L’Equipe.

“I feel very good in Paris, I have a contract to respect at PSG. I’d prefer to be here. I feel good here.

“Like I’ve already said, that doesn’t depend solely on the position of a player but also things that can happen at the club.”
