Massimiliano Allegri says Manchester United target Arturo Vidal is happy to stay at Juventus.

The Chile international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League since the World Cup finished.

Manchester United were thought to be leading the race to sign the 27-year-old midfielder, whilst Arsenal and Liverpool have also been touted as potential destinations.

However, Allegri, who has replaced Antonio Conte at the Turin club, described Vidal as a fundamental part of Juventus.

“Vidal is fundamental for Juventus and not just in practical terms,” said Allegri.

“He is very motivated and he is happy to stay.”

Allegri added that he spoke to Vidal before the midfielder underwent a knee operation ahead of the World Cup.

“I spoke to him to satisfy myself of his physical condition as he was operated on and then played a World Cup, so he will train on a special schedule for a few days,” Allegri added.
