Man United transfers: James Rodríguez reveals that he is planning to stay at Monaco beyond the summer

James Rodríguez has disappointed Manchester United and Real Madrid by revealing that he plans to stay at Monaco beyond the summer.
The 22-year-old Colombia international emerged as one of the stars of the World Cup after his impressive displays helped his country reach the quarter-finals of the tournament in Brazil.
The Monaco midfielder had been linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid in recent days, with Manchester United also reported to be considering a £65m bid for the World Cup sensation.
However, the player himself has now poured cold water on that speculation by insisting that he is set to stay at the French club next season.
“I’m staying at Monaco. It’s a great club,” Rodriguez told beIN Sports when asked about his future.
Speaking last week, Rodríguez hinted that he would favour a move to Spain ahead of England.
“I’ve said in the past that I’d like to play in Spain one day because it is a league that is good technically, and where you get a lot of touches on the ball, which is my style,” said Rodríguez.
“The Premier League is maybe a bit physical at this stage.
“But I am a Monaco player and I’m not thinking about anything like that at the moment.”
