Man United transfers: Miranda ‘staying’ at Atletico Madrid
Man United transfers: Miranda insists he is staying at Atletico Madrid despite reports of Red Devils interest
Miranda has reassured Atletico Madrid supporters that he is staying at Vicente Calderon despite interest from Manchester United.
The Brazilian centre-half was an integral part of Diego Simeone’s side which won the La Liga title and finished as Champions League runners-up last season.
Miranda forged a solid partnership with Uruguay international Diego Godin as los Rojiblancos conceded a measly 26 goals in 38 top-flight games.
Louis van Gaal was reported to be interested in a swoop for the Brazilian to strengthen his United defence, but Miranda stressed that he is happy at Atletico.
“Don’t worry, I’m staying,” Miranda is quoted as saying by Marca.
Miranda scored two goals and made one assist in 32 La Liga appearances.
