Sneijder has long been touted as a target for Manchester United, speculation which has heightened following Louis van Gaal’s appointment as the club’s new manager.
Sneijder is going to stay with Galatasaray
The 30-year-old recently said that he would have to consider joining United should Van Gaal opt to try and bring the midfielder to Old Trafford.
However, president Unal Aysal says that the club will keep hold of the former Real Madrid midfielder beyond the current transfer window.
“Sneijder is going to stay with Galatasaray,” Aysal is quoted as saying by Turkish media on Tuesday.
“It’s not just our opinion but that of Cesare Prandelli and the player. There can be no talk of a split between us.
“He had a tiring season and right afterwards he played at the World Cup. He will rejoin us after the holidays.”
