Michael Carrick: Man United can challenge for title under Louis van Gaal
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is confident the Red Devils can challenge for trophies under Louis van Gaal

Michael Carrick believes Manchester United can challenge for the Premier League title under Louis van Gaal next season.
The Netherlands head coach is set to take charge of the Red Devils at the end of the season after agreeing a three-year deal with the 20-time English champions in May.
United finished in a disappointing eighth place last season following David Moyes’s doomed 10-month reign at Old Trafford.
But England international Carrick is feeling confident that the Dutchman can help United contest for silverware next term.
“I’m looking forward to working with him,” Carrick told Sky Sports News. “I’m looking forward to meeting him and getting cracking really.
“Looking back it was a disappointing campaign but we have got to learn from it, never stop learning, and take what we can.
“We have still certainly got enough quality in the squad anyway regardless of who is coming in this summer to be up there challenging again.”
