Mo Farah is adamant he will be back in action sooner rather than later despite pulling out of this weekend’s Glasgow Grand Prix because of illness.
The 31-year-old was due to race over two miles at Hampden Park on Saturday but has withdrawn after being admitted to hospital in America last week with abdominal pains.

Farah, who is the reigning Olympic and world champion over 5000m and 10,000m, is having further tests in the UK this week but remains confident the setback won’t be too damaging for his hopes this summer.
“Sorry to everyone in Scotland but I won’t be able to make it there this week,” Farah said in a statement.
“I hope to resume training in the next few days and aim to run in the London Anniversary Games on 20 July and then the Commonwealth Games the following week.”
