Arsenal’s squad flew out to the United States on Wednesday ahead of their friendly clash against Thierry Henry’s New York Red Bulls on Saturday.

Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Santi Cazorla were among the players involved ahead of their pre-season friendly in the Big Apple.

Wenger, whose side take on Manchester City in the Community Shield on 10 August, is looking forward to visiting the States with the Gunners.

“The enthusiasm about soccer in the States is new but big,” Wenger told Arsenal Player. “I expect us to have a good crowd there.

“I hope that we can help to develop the interest in the game and that we can play a good match there to make people enjoy it.

“It is the perfect time to go. I always wanted to go with Arsenal to the United States, so I’m personally very happy to do it.”
