Jack Wilshere is certainly causing a splash at Arsenal after the Gunners midfielder made the most of the wet conditions in training on Wednesday evening.

The England international wasn’t scared off by a storm during the Gunners’s final session in Austria as the 22-year-old made the most of the giant puddles on the pitch.

Wilshere, who missed Arsenal’s FA Cup triumph due to injury, is expected to play a part in the Gunners’s bid to win The Emirates Cup on home soil this weekend.

Earlier on Wednesday, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes backed Wilshere to come of age at the north London side this season.

“He’s playing for a good team at Arsenal as well. I think they could have a good season, especially if Aaron Ramsey stays fit, and they’ve made a great signing in Alexis Sanchez. So hopefully this is the year when Jack really comes of age,” Scholes told talkSPORT.
