Manchester United ran out comfortable 7-0 winners in their first game under Louis van Gaal, and the new manager put his squad through their paces ahead of their clash against Roma on Saturday.

The 62-year-old, who signed a three-year deal to become the new Red Devils boss in May, is known as a no-nonsense coach but the former Barcelona manager appeared in relaxed mood as his squad trained in Denver.

United supporters who turned up to watch the 20-time English champions prepare for their second friendly of Van Gaal’s reign were treated to new signings Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw.

Here are some of the best pictures from Friday’s training session in Denver.
