Jack Wilshere returns to Arsenal training as the Gunners gear up for pre-season clash against New York Red Bulls

Jack Wilshere was involved in Arsenal’s pre-season training session on Wednesday as the Gunners geared up for their friendly clash against the New York Red Bulls.

Midfielder Wilshere, 22, has returned to his club after a break following his involvement with England at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta, Kieran Gibbs and Santi Cazorla were among the other players put through their paces at Arsenal’s London Colney training base.

Arsene Wenger’s side jet off to the United States this week to take part in promotional activity and play a game against Thierry Henry’s Red Bulls side on Saturday.

“I hope that we can help to develop the interest in the game and that we can play a good match there to make people enjoy it,” Wenger told Arsenal Player. “It is the perfect time to go. I always wanted to go with Arsenal to the United States, so I’m personally very happy to do it.”

Here is a selection of the best pictures from Wednesday’s session.
