Hugo Lloris is expecting to be at Tottenham Hotspur beyond the summer despite reports of a move away from White Hart Lane.

The France captain was unable to prevent Didier Deschamps’s men suffering a 1-0 loss to rivals Germany in their World Cup quarter-final on Friday night.

I need a few days to recover and after that to relax, have a good rest and come back for next season

Lloris was one of the sole positives from an otherwise season of upheaval at Tottenham, racking up 37 Premier League appearances as he underlined his status as Spurs’s No1.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a return to Ligue 1 amid interest from Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain – but Lloris was in no mood to talk about his future.

“I don’t want to speak about my situation now. I think I will speak soon about that and we will deal with it,” Lloris said.

“I need a few days to recover and after that to relax, have a good rest and come back for next season.”

However, pressed on whether he would be at Spurs next season, Lloris said: “Yes, I should be.”

Lloris has made 78 appearances in all competitions for Spurs following his €10m move from Lyon in 2012.
