Tottenham transfers: New signings possible, says Mauricio Pochettino
Tottenham transfers: Mauricio Pochettino refuses to rule out new signings but admits overhaul is unlikely
Mauricio Pochettino has told Tottenham Hotspur fans not to expect a major overhaul this summer – but says that new signings are still possible.
The north London brought in seven new players last summer but failed to secure Champions League qualification as Andre Villas-Boas was replaced by Tim Sherwood.
New manager Pochettino says that has been impressed by the players already at his disposal since taking charge but refused to rule out bringing in a number of new players ahead of the new season.
“I’m very pleased with our squad and we don’t expect many changes for the season,” said Pochettino.
“It’s possible we may still add some players but [there will] not be many changes.”
The former Southampton manager also confirmed that right-back Kyle Walker could make a return to action against Toronto on Thursday following a groin injury which has kept him out since March.
“It’s possible that he will play 45 minutes tomorrow,” he said.
“We want to see in the last training session today before the game that he is getting better, but we think its very possible that he plays 45 minutes.”
