Nabil Bentaleb hopes to continue his progression under new Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Algeria international impressed at the World Cup as he helped his country reach the knockout stage, losing to eventual champions Germany 2-1 after extra-time in Brazil.

We’ll see what the new head coach wants from me and I’ll continue to work hard and to learn even more

Bentaleb made his breakthrough as a first-team regular at White Hart Lane under Tim Sherwood last season, making one assist in 15 Premier League appearances.

And the 19-year-old African midfielder is hoping to kick on under Sherwood’s successor Pochettino, who was appointed as the new Spurs manager at the end of last season.

“I think personally it gave me more experience and more confidence and I’m really proud to have played at the tournament,” Bentaleb told Tottenham’s website.

“Now it’s a new season and I have to move forward, to improve more. We’ll see what the new head coach wants from me and I’ll continue to work hard and to learn even more.”
