Wilfried Zaha desperate to impress new Man United boss
Wilfried Zaha declares his desire to impress new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal this season
Wilfried Zaha has declared his desire to impress new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal as he bids to force his way into the Red Devils’ starting line-up this season.
The 21-year-old made 13 appearances for Cardiff last term after joining the Bluebirds on loan in January following his switch from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2013.
There’s a new manager and I want to make sure I show him what I can do
And the winger, who is part of the United squad on tour in the United States, is already relishing working under Van Gaal ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
“For me, I definitely feel like this is a clean slate,” Zaha told United’s website.
“All I’m trying to do is impress the new manager and get into his squad. All I can do is give my all. There’s a new manager and I want to make sure I show him what I can do.
“United are a big club so we need strong opposition and we’ve got that on pre-season this year. There’s no doubt we’ll be tested on tour and that’s a good thing.
“It should prepare us well for the season ahead. I’m really looking forward to being involved and I can’t wait to face those teams.”
Zaha added: “It’s great to be back. There’s a nice vibe, everybody’s working hard and we’re looking forward to the new season.”
