Wojciech Szczesny welcomes Arsenal signing David Ospina
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny welcomes rival shot stopper David Ospina to The Emirates
Wojciech Szczesny has welcomed new rival Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina to Emirates Stadium.
The Colombia international has put pen to paper on a long-term contract at the Gunners after Arsenal agreed a £3.5m deal with Ligue 1 outfit Nice.
Szczesny was the north London side’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper last season ahead of the compatriot Lukasz Fabianski, who quit Arsenal this summer.
And the 24-year-old cast aside any potential rivalry to congratulate his new team-mate on his Premier League move.
Last week, Szczesny was quick to pay tribute to his former team-mate Fabianski after the 29-year-old quit the Gunners.
“I’ll miss Lukasz Fabianski, he challenged me every day in training for the No 1 spot,” said Szczesny.
