The Tipster’s faith in Germany has steadily diminished following their opening 4-0 victory over Portugal. Joachim Low’s men were disappointing against Algeria, and the African side were a tad unfortunate to lose. France have been one of the most-attacking sides in the tournament, despite leaving it late against Nigeria. The Tipster is offering new Paddy Power customers *SPECIAL ODDS of 7/1 (currently 19/10) on Didier Deschamps’s men to beat Germany.
Disagree with the Tipster? Paddy Power are offering new customers ENHANCED ODDS of 6/1 (currently 17/10) on Germany to beat France and 8/1 (currently 21/10) on the draw.
The Real Madrid striker has become the focal point of the France attack. Deschamps started Olivier Giroud in a central-striking role and shifted Benzema to the left against Nigeria. Frankly, it didn’t work. The Tipster expects the France manager to play Benzema as a centre-forward, and the 26-year-old will hope to add to his three goals and two assists. The Tipster is backing Benzema to score any time at 15/8.
This World Cup had proven to be something of a goal-frenzy – that was until the last 16. However, the Tipster is expecting goals here. There have been a total of 12 goals in Germany’s four World Cup games so far. Les Bleus have seen the same amount of goals in their games, too. The Tipster feels over 2.5 goals is a no-brainer at 5/4.
Thomas Müller still has a chance of winning Fifa’s Golden Boot, although the Bayern Munich forward will need to improve his finishing after an errant performance against Algeria. The 24-year-old, who won the Golden Boot in 2010, has scored four goals in four games, although he drew a blank in the last 16. However, the Tipster feels Müller is good value at 17/10, especially as he will be on spot-kick duty.
As already mentioned in this betting preview, the Tipster fancies France to win in an entertaining quarter-final match-up. France have plenty of attacking talent in the shape of Benzema, Giroud and Antoine Griezmann, whilst Germany can call on the likes of Muller, Miroslav Klose and Mesut Ozil. The Tipster’s long shot is France to win and both teams to score at 13/2.
