England v India: Steven Finn recalled for Old Trafford Test

England v India: Steven Finn is recalled to the Test side for the fourth Test at Old Trafford

By Sam Rogers

Steven Finn has been recalled to the England squad for the fourth Test against India at Old Trafford after an injury to Liam Plunkett.

The Yorkshire bowler struggled with some ankle discomfort and missed the third Test at Southampton, and has failed to recover sufficiently.

The 25-year-old Finn had a bad time of it in Australia last winter and returned to Lord’s to find form and has been brilliant for Middlesex all summer, taking 44 wickets in 10 County Championship matches at an average of 29.72.

With conditions set to favour the fast bowlers, Finn will be confident if selected to add to the 90 wickets he has taken in 23 Test matches since making his debut against Bangladesh in 2010.
