Everton

Tim Howard Didn’t have much to do, but dealt with anything he had to with ease, making his first save on the 68th minute. 7/10

Seamus Coleman Opened the scoring with a header on 18 minutes. Was his usual self on his return from injury by getting up and down the touchline all day long. 8

Phil Jagielka Didn’t have much to deal with, Arsenal rarely threatened up front. But Jagielka was strong defensively when he had to be and calm on the ball. 7

Sylvain Distin Still strolling through games at his age is a sign of how good he is, but he was caught out for the equaliser. 6

Leighton Baines Got up and down the left flank as he normally does, good in possession and strong at the back. 7

James McCarthy Another very good performance from the Irishman in the middle of the park. Worked tirelessly beside Barry. 7

Gareth Barry Set up Coleman for the first goal with a great delivery. As usual, added a calmness to the Everton midfield with his experience. 7

Steven Pienaar Replaced by Leon Osman early on after picking up an injury. N/A

Steven Naismith Caused problems for the Arsenal defence all day and got his sides second goal with a neat finish past Szczesny. 8

Kevin Mirallas Should have put Everton 2-0 up within minutes of the opener but knocked it past the post. Wasn’t in the game as much as the other attackers but did well when on the ball. 7

Romelu Lukaku Showed great strength and pace to burst forward and set up Naismith to make it 2-0 to the hosts. He was a constant threat to the Arsenal backline. Replaced by McGeady with 15 minutes left. 7

Substitutes

Leon Osman Worked hard after replacing Pienaar early on, as always gave 100 per cent. 7

Aiden McGeady Replaced Lukaku but didn’t do much. 4

Christian Atsu The Chelsea loanee was given five minutes at the end. N/A

Arsenal

Wojciech Szczesny Could do nothing about Everton’s goals and made a couple of good saves. 7

Mathieu Debuchy Attacked well but was caused problems in defence by Mirallas. 7

Calum Chambers The youngster was given a tough time by Lukaku and Naismith, did okay but would have hoped for better. 6

Per Mertesacker Booked in the first half and was given a torrid time by the Everton attack. 5

Nacho Monreal Attacked down the left-hand flank well, but Arsenal’s poor attack gave him little options as he went forward. 7

Mathieu Flamini Was in the holding role in midfield but couldn’t deal with Naismith or McCarthy’s runs. 5

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Was unlucky with a strike from the edge of the area early on, but did very little after that. Not a great performance. Replaced by Campbell. 5

Aaron Ramsey The Welshman is one of Arsenal’s most important players and he proved that by scoring one and setting up the equaliser. 7

Jack Wilshere Booked for a rash tackle and cold have seen red for the tackle, but he was the best of Arsenal’s 4 midfielders. Replaced by Cazorla. 6

Mesut Ozil Rarely involved in the game, Arsenal’s record signing was once again a let down for Arsene Wenger. 4

Alexis Sanchez Replaced at half time by Giroud after a disappointing showing in the first half. 4

Substitutes

Oliver Giroud Provided a focal point for Arsenal and was unlucky with a couple of efforts before grabbing the equaliser. 8

Santi Cazorla Replaced Wilshere and set up Ramsey to get his side back into the game. 6

Joel Campbell Made his Premier League debut but wasn’t involved much. 3
