Jose Mourinho: Chelsea will know if Loic Remy has a medical problem
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insists the Blues will find out if Loïc Remy has any health problems before his proposed move
Jose Mourinho insisted that Chelsea’s medical team will find out if Loic Remy has any potential health problems ahead of his proposed transfer from Queens Park Rangers.
The Blues triggered the France international’s £8.5m release clause on Saturday and the 27-year-old was left out of the QPR squad for their game against Sunderland.
Mourinho has moved quickly to bolster his attacking options after Fernando Torres departed for AC Milan on a two-year loan deal on Friday.
And despite Remy having been reported to have failed a medical at Liverpool back in July, Mourinho claims that the striker “doesn’t have a problem to play football”.
“Today I told my people in the club that I have no news [about Remy] until the end of the game,” Mourinho told Sky Sports after Chelsea’s 6-3 win at Everton. “They know I don’t like to communicate before the game.
“Obviously, we are trying since yesterday – since Fernando left – to get Loic Remy but I don’t know the status. When we arrive in the bus, it’s time to make some calls.
“We have a fantastic doctor and we trust him completely. He has lots of people working with him in different areas. They will identify any problem.
“The information we have had from specialists in different areas it that he doesn’t have a problem to play football.”
