Frank de Boer has congratulated Daley Blind on sealing a move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils announced that they had been given permission to speak to the Netherlands international on Saturday after agreeing a £13.8m deal with Ajax.

And the Eredivisie champions’s manager De Boer appeared to all but confirm the full-back’s move to United after taking to Twitter to pay tribute to the 24-year-old defender.

On Saturday morning, the Red Devils announced the news on their official Twitter account, posting: “Manchester United has reached agreement with Ajax to sign Daley Blind, subject to a medical and personal terms.

“A further announcement will be made when the process is complete.”

Blind made 29 league appearances for Ajax last season, scoring one goal and making one assist.
