England reached their fourth successive Women’s Rugby World Cup final thanks to a 40-7 victory over Ireland on Wednesday.

Alison Miller had given New Zealand’s conquerors Ireland a 7-0 lead, but tries from Rochelle Clark, Kat Merchant, Kay Wilson, as well as a brace from Marlie Packer, sealed an emphatic semi-final win.

England will face Canada in the final after losing their three previous finals to the Black Ferns, and coach Gary Street insisted that his side are focused on the final.

“We tensed up last time out against Canada. We felt the pressure,” Street told BBC Radio 5 live.

“This is my second World Cup final as coach. We need to get better again.”
