Brendan Rodgers capped his 100th game in charge of Liverpool with an emphatic 3-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Liverpool, who suffered a 3-1 loss to champions Manchester City on Monday, made an early breakthrough after Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson combined to set up fellow England international Raheem Sterling.

The Reds were handed the chance to double their lead from the penalty spot in the 49th minute after Spurs defender Eric Dier was penalised for pulling Joe Allen’s shirt, and captain Steven Gerrard duly converted from the spot.

Mario Balotelli made his Liverpool debut at White Hart Lane, but it was another summer signing, Alberto Moreno, who scored his first goal for the club after dispossessing Andros Townsend before slotting past Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham could only muster one shot on target as Liverpool looked better defensively despite a couple of sloppy mistakes by Dejan Lovren and Mamdou Sakho, whilst Balotelli, Sterling and Sturridge all wasted chances to add a fourth.

Here is a selection of the best photos from Liverpool’s comfortable win in north London which sees the Reds move up to fifth in the Premier League table.
