Red Bull chief attempts to explain Sebastian Vettel’s struggles
Christian Horner says a number of factors are behind Sebastian Vettel's disappointing performances this year
Christian Horner believes that a number of factors are behind Sebastian Vettel’s disappointing performances this season.
The defending world champion has notched up 88 points so far this season, leaving him sixth in the drivers’ standings.
And Red Bull team principal Horner feels that changes to his car and the new regulations have impacted the Germany’s performances.
“It is a combination of several things,” Auto Bild Motorsport quotes Horner as saying.
“First, when you have fought for the title for five years, it does wear you out a little bit, but that is not the fundamental problem.
“The way Sebastian brought out those extra tenths from the car in recent years was quite unique.
“He is very sensitive to the behaviour of the car, especially when braking.”
