The Croatia international has made two top-flight appearances for the Reds since moving to Anfield in a £20m deal from Southampton earlier this summer.
It wasn’t my best performance [against Manchester City] but it is the beginning of the season and we can learn from mistakes
25-year-old Lovren was one of nine summer signings that Brendan Rodgers recruited to strengthen his squad, spending over £110m on new players.
And the former Lyon defender is impressed by the quality of Rodgers’s signings, adding that he is confident Liverpool will enjoy a good year.
“It’s a massive achievement to bring these players here. You have quality players, a quality team and legends around you. I think this is our year,” Lovren told Football Focus.
Lovren reassured Liverpool supporters that he would improve after a conspicuous showing as the Reds suffered a 3-1 loss to Manchester City last Monday.
“It’s great to hear the manager has a lot of confidence in me, but I’m a young player and need to improve every game,” Lovren added.
