Tottenham 0 Liverpool 3: Player ratings as Raheem Sterling sparkles for the Reds at White Hart Lane

By Alex Peace

Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris Great save to deny Balotelli in the opening minutes. Not at fault for any of the goals. 6/10

Eric Dier Had a tough test against Sterling and Balotelli – and struggled. The young full-back recklessly gave away the second-half penalty. 4

Younes Kaboul Let Balotelli go on too many occasions and struggled with the movement of the forward three. 5

Jan Vertonghen The Belgium international was not his usual assured self at the back. 5

Danny Rose Bombed down the wing from left-back, but largely wasteful and out-of-position for the first goal. 5

Etienne Capoue Let Henderson go too early for the opener and largely anonymous. 5

Nabil Bentaleb Overran in midfield and the Algeria international was substituted with over 30 minutes left. 4

Nacer Chadli Should have scored at the end of the first half but the Belgium missed the chance to beat compatriot Mignolet. Probably Spurs’s biggest attacking threat. 6

Christian Eriksen Poor delivery all afternoon. Subbed with over half an hour to go. 4

Eric Lamela Poor decision-making and gave the ball away far too often. 3

Emmanuel Adebayor Little service and often left isolated on his own in attack. 5

Andros Townsend Gave the ball away with his first touch which lead to Liverpool’s third goal. 5

Moussa Dembele Much more involved than any other Tottenham midfielder. 5

Ben Davies N/A

Simon Mignolet Looked a bit uncertain in the opening exchanges, great save to deny Chadli at the end of the first half, otherwise untroubled. 6

Javi Manquillo Dealt with Chadli and Rose well but booked for an ill-timed challenge on the latter late in the second half. 7

Mamadou Sakho Looked like he had a mistake in him but earned his clean sheet alongside Lovren. 7

Dejan Lovern Tackled well and defended brilliantly when called upon. 8

Alberto Moreno Much-improved from his Etihad showing and scored a great goal after dispossessing Townsend. 8

Jordan Henderson Great movement and pass for the Liverpool opener, ran the show in the middle of the park. 9

Steven Gerrard Not as influential as Henderson alongside him, dispatched his penalty well. 7

Joe Allen Struggled to get in to the game and was booked for a stupid challenge. Taken off with half-an-hour to go. 5

Raheem Sterling (Man-of-the-match) Brilliant dribbling all afternoon and took his goal really well. Looked the real deal. 9

Mario Balotelli Missed two good headed chances in the opening 15 minutes and worked uncharacteristically hard. Played well and subbed with 30 minutes to go. 7

Daniel Sturridge A great all-round game from the Liverpool man, setting up his team-mates well throughout. 8

Lazar Markovic Struggled to get involved. 6

Emre Can Steady showing in the middle of the park. 6

Jose Enrique N/A
