Jose Mourinho says Oscar, Andre Schurrle and Willian are yet to find “super form” this season as the Chelsea trio recover from a demanding World Cup campaign.

Schurrle was particularly impressive against Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday night as the Germany international completed 90 minutes of the 2-1 win.

None of them is in super form at the moment, like Fabregas, Matic, Ivanovic. Step-by-step

The German has been hit-and-miss in recent weeks, scoring from the bench at Manchester City only to inadvertently contribute towards Frank Lampard’s leveller.

However, Mourinho was pleased with the 23-year-old contribution in the League Cup mid-week, adding that Schurrle, Ramires and Oscar Willian are still building towards optimum fitness.

“He played fantastic against Bolton. He really wanted to make an impact in the game and his performance was good,” Mourinho said ahead of Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa.

“It was important for him to play 90 minutes. I don’t forget that he is one of the guys, like the Brazilians, reached the last stage of the World Cup and their holiday was very short.

“To be ready for the first game, they couldn’t train as hard. We had all of them, players in the same positions; Ramires, Willian, Oscar and Schurrle.

“I couldn’t say all four holidays because I needed them. None of them is in super form at the moment, like Fabregas, Matic, Ivanovic. Step -by-step.”
