Angel di Maria is Man United’s biggest threat, says Leicester defender
Leicester City defender Danny Simpson says Manchester United star Angel di Maria is the man to watch on Sunday
Danny Simpson believes Angel Di Maria is the biggest threat to Leicester City ahead of Manchester United’s trip to the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
Di Maria, who signed for a British transfer record of £59.7m, scored and assisted in United’s 4-0 win against Simpson’s former club Queens Park Rangers – their first victory this season.
Simpson, who began his career with the Red Devils, lauded the winger as world-class and admitted he will face a tough task if selected ahead of teammate Ritchie De Laet.
Simpson wrote on Sportlobster.com: “I don’t know who will be facing Angel Di Maria, as I obviously don’t know the starting line-up yet.
“He is definitely one to watch and one of many of the Manchester United players who are world class.”
However, the 27-year-old, who joined the Foxes in the summer transfer window, stressed Leicester have their own Argentine to shock Louis Van Gaal’s team.
He added: “We have a great defence and an in-form striker in Leonardo Ulloa. He is a handful for defenders and already he’s scored three goals for the club.
“His work-rate is incredible, he leads the line brilliantly and his aerial ability and link-up play have been top-notch.”
