Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey tweets apology after Dortmund loss
Aaron Ramsey apologises to Arsenal fans on Twitter after Tuesday's dire 2-0 defeat by Borussia Dortmund
Aaron Ramsey was in no mood to make excuses after Arsenal’s dire Champions League defeat by Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
Arsene Wenger’s side failed to get going as goals from Ciro Immobile and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang either side of half-time handed the Bundesliga side a comfortable victory in the Group D opener.
And Ramsey took to Twitter shortly after the game to apologise to Gunners fans for the disappointing performance.
“That wasn’t good enough tonight, sorry to all the fans and thank you for your support,” Ramsey said.
The poor performance from the Gunners also prompted former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour to have his say during the game.
“This is painful to watch,” Parlour tweeted. “Some awful defending! Dortmund’s work rate and pace going forward very impressive. #ChampionsLeague”
