Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger hints at defensive reinforcements
Arsene Wenger refuses to rule out the possibility of bringing in defensive reinforcements at Arsenal
Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out the possibility of adding defensive cover to his injury-plagued Arsenal squad in the coming weeks.
With Mathieu Debuchy set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury and Nacho Monreal also out, reports have claimed that the Gunners could move for some free agents.
Ex-Everton defender Joseph Yobo and former West Bromwich Albion man Diego Lugano have both been touted as potential targets.
And the Gunners boss hinted that he could be tempted to bring in reinforcements – but only if required.
“You cannot rule anything out because it depends on how long the injuries are and how many you have,” said Wenger ahead of Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa.
“At the moment, we are not in that need.”
