John Terry has hailed Cesc Fabregas’ arrival at Chelsea following his flying start to the season at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard has hit the ground running for Jose Mourinho’s men following his summer switch from Barcelona, notching up six assists and scoring once in six games for the Blues.

Fabregas lined up against Chelsea a number of times during his eight-year spell at Arsenal before his switch to Barcelona back in 2011.

But Blues captain Terry says that the 27-year-old midfielder is now part of the west London club’s “family”.

“Obviously we were always competitive when we played against each other, and we had a little laugh about that. But that’s what football is all about – the rivalry,” Terry told Sport magazine.

“But now he is one of us; part of the Chelsea family, and he is playing great.

“In the short time he has been here, he has made a big impression. He has a long contract, and we all hope he can bring great success to Chelsea for years to come.”
