Cesc Fabregas believes that he is “hitting the peak” of his career following his transfer to Chelsea from Barcelona.

The Spain international sealed a £27m move to Stamford Bridge this summer after being deemed surplus to requirements at Camp Nou following a three-year spell back at his boyhood club.

I feel as though I am hitting the peak of my career

The 27-year-old has hit the ground running in the Premier League for Jose Mourinho’s men, making four assists for his team-mates in three games.

And the former Arsenal captain feels that both Spain and his new club are in line to witness his best form in the coming years.

“I feel important to the national side,” said Fabregas. “My international career started when I was 18 and I’m 27 now.

“I’ve gained enough experience and have matches under my belt and I’m also at the perfect age.

“I also feel as though I am hitting the peak of my career and I feel that I do have an important role to play with Spain.”
