Chelsea 4 Swansea 2: Jose Mourinho hails ‘special’ Diego Costa
Chelsea 4 Swansea 2: Jose Mourinho sings Diego Costa's praises after Blues seal impressive win
Jose Mourinho was full of praise for Diego Costa after the striker’s hat-trick helped keep Chelsea top of the Premier League with victory over Swansea City.
The Blues were forced to come from 1-0 down after John Terry’s early own-goal at Stamford Bridge.
He’s a good player but he’s in a good team
But a treble from the Brazilian forward, along with a debut strike for Loic Remy, sealed the points before Jonjo Shelvey’s late consolation.
Costa has now scored seven goals in four Premier League games since his transfer to west London from Atletico Madrid over the summer.
And Mourinho praised the 25-year-old’s impact, as well as his side’s overall display.
“He’s a special player,” Mourinho told BBC Sport.
“He’s one of the best strikers in football at this moment, and the team is an attacking team, a team that creates a lot and projects lots of people in attack.
“He’s a good player but he’s in a good team.”
