Marco van Ginkel says that he is happy to have the option of returning to Chelsea when his loan spell at AC Milan comes to an end.

The midfielder sealed a temporary move to Serie A this summer after making just four appearances for the Blues last season due to a knee ligament injury.

I’m happy with the fact that Chelsea didn’t put an option to buy in the loan

And the 21-year-old is pleased that Chelsea did not include an option to make his deal permanent at the end of his loan spell in Italy.

“AC Milan wanted me for a long time and did everything to get me,” Van Ginkel told the Milan Channel.

“That is good for a player to know. We play with two attacking midfielders and a defensive one. I think I am more of an attacking one.

“Right now I am focused entirely on Milan, but I’m happy with the fact that Chelsea didn’t put an option to buy in the loan.”
