Chelsea transfers: Petr Cech refuses to rule out the possibility of leaving Stamford Bridge
Petr Cech has refused to rule out the possibility of leaving Chelsea after being replaced by Thibaut Courtois as the club’s number one goalkeeper.
The 32-year-old has seen his future become a source of speculation in recent days after Jose Mourinho chose Courtois as his first choice between the posts for the Blues.
In football, nothing can be predicted in advance
And the veteran goalkeeper offered no assurances about his future when asked about his situation while on international duty with the Czech Republic.
“I’ve been at the club for 10 years, the situation is now new to me,” Cech told sport.cz.
“The three opening matches I could not play for the team. I have no reason to panic, pack up and leave. I am a Chelsea player, where I have two more years of contract.
“In football, nothing can be predicted in advance, nothing is ever perfect. A lot of players go on representative duty, yet still many transfer clubs.
“The offer would have to be right for everyone. I do not exclude anything [or] know the answer.”
