Paul Scholes believes Chelsea’s main objective is the Premier League title this season.

The Blues are two points clear at the top of the Premier League table after a 4-2 victory over Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

“If you ask Jose Mourinho what you’d rather win now, I think the answer would be the Premier League

The west London side have spent heavily on Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis in the summer.

And former Manchester United midfielder Scholes reckons Mourinho will focus on the Premier League and not the Champions League this season.

“Whilst The Champions League is the ultimate trophy for any club team, I believe Chelsea’s main objective is winning the Premier League this season,” Scholes told ITV Sport.

“If you ask Jose Mourinho what you’d rather win now, I think the answer would be the Premier League.”

Scholes won 11 Premier League titles and three Champions League crowns during a distinguished career at United.
