Theo Walcott has revealed that “hard-working” Danny Welbeck is eager to improve at Arsenal.

The 23-year-old forward could make his Gunners debut against Premier League champions Manchester City at The Emirates on Saturday.

He’s just a very well-spoken young man and he’s always eager to improve

Welbeck, who scored twice in England’s 2-0 victory over Switzerland on Tuesday, joined Arsenal in a £16m deal from Manchester United on transfer deadline day.

And Arsenal forward Walcott is confident that Welbeck will effortlessly settle into life at the Gunners.

“He’s a very good guy and a very hard worker,” Walcott told Arsenal’s website.

“Off the pitch he’s very relaxed and likes to get involved in anything. He’s just a very well-spoken young man and he’s always eager to improve and spend time with people.

“He fits perfectly into Arsenal, which is such a big family club where everyone’s together. He’ll fit straight in here.”

Welbeck scored nine goals in 25 Premier League appearances at United last season.
