Danny Welbeck needs to improve his finishing if the striker is to become an Arsenal legend, according to George Graham.

The 23-year-old striker opened his Gunners account at Villa Park after scoring a first-half striker in a 3-0 victory.

At Arsenal he will get chances, so we’ll see how good a finisher he is

Welbeck moved to Arsenal in a £16m deal from Manchester United on the final day of the summer transfer window, penning a five-year deal.

But former Arsenal manager Graham is concerned by Welbeck’s wayward finishing, especially as the Gunners will create a lot of chances for the north London side.

“Welbeck is a very willing boy,” Graham told talkSPORT. “He works his socks off for the team and has got a good attitude.

“He’s got to improve his finishing a lot though. At Arsenal he will get chances, so we’ll see how good a finisher he is.”

Welbeck scored nine goals in 25 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils last season.
