Danny Welbeck will flourish after joining Arsenal from Manchester United, according to Kevin Campbell.

The 23-year-old signed a five-year deal with the north London side on the final day of the summer transfer window after Arsenal paid £16m for the striker’s services.

Now is the time for Welbeck to come into his own because now he is a big star at Arsenal

And former Arsenal striker Campbell is confident that the new Gunners signing, who scored twice against Switzerland earlier this week, will become a “big star” at Emirates Stadium.

“I definitely do [see it as a bargain],” Campbell told talkSPORT.

“Ever since he has made that move he has looked a different player. Coming on against Norway for England he looked really sharp and the Switzerland game proved he knows where the net is.

“We all know when you come through the ranks at a club now you are never really taken as seriously as a signing. Now is the time for Welbeck to come into his own because now he is a big star at Arsenal. And I think he is going to flourish.”

The England international trained with his new Gunners team-mates on Thursday ahead of his potential debut against champions Manchester City at The Emirates on Saturday.
