Mikel Arteta believes Danny Welbeck will suit Arsenal’s style after the striker swapped Old Trafford for The Emirates on Monday night.

The 23-year-old completed a dramatic deadline day move to Arsenal after the north London side agreed a £16m deal with Manchester United.

Welbeck has signed a long-term deal with the Gunners after calling time on his career at Old Trafford, helping United to win the Premier League and League Cup.

The England international is Arsene Wenger’s fifth signing of the summer after the Arsenal manager landed £35m forward Alexis Sanchez, Calum Chambers, David Ospina and Mathieu Debuchy.

And Arsenal captain Arteta took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to welcome Welbeck to the FA Cup holders after a dramatic transfer deadline day.

Arsenal will hope Welbeck can add more firepower to their side after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Welbeck, who is currently on international duty with England, could make his debut for the Gunners in the Premier League home match against Manchester City on 13 September.
