Eden Hazard says he is happy with Chelsea’s “not bad” start to the Premier League season.

Jose Mourinho’s men dropped their first points of the season on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, but still find themselves top of the table.

Five matches played: four wins and a draw – it’s not a bad start

Chelsea were 1-0 winners in the same fixture last season but despite admitting his disappointment at not claiming victory, the Belgian playmaker is satisfied with the Blues’ start to the new campaign.

“Last year we played the perfect match,” said Hazard. “This year [James] Milner defended more on the right-hand side. That made it more difficult for me to attack.

“Having said that I thought we played well. It’s never easy to play at City. The first half was complicated; we didn’t have much time on the ball.

“We defended well though and then we scored another good team goal, which we have been doing a lot this season. We need to continue like that and keep working hard.

“We stay first in the league, too. Five matches played: four wins and a draw – it’s not a bad start.”
