Eden Hazard is hoping to emulate Chelsea legend Frank Lampard in terms of goals and silverware.

Lampard came back to haunt his old club last Sunday as the Manchester City midfielder scored a late equaliser to rescue a 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

He is an inspiration, not just for me and everyone at Chelsea but every footballer

Earlier at The Etihad, Belgium international Hazard had teed up Andre Schurrle to break the deadlock in the clash against the Premier League champions.

And Hazard, who scored 14 goals in 35 top-flight appearances last season, spoke of his admiration for the former England international.

“I would love to succeed like Frank did – play like he did and win the prizes he has won,” Hazard told the Sun.

“He is an inspiration, not just for me and everyone at Chelsea but every footballer.

“Whoever loves the game – even if they are not a Chelsea fan – will tell you Frank is a great player. His record is magnificent. That’s why he is a Chelsea legend and always will be.”
