Harry Redknapp backs Man United signings to fire Red Devils into top four
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is backing Manchester United's new signings to have big impact
Harry Redknapp has backed Manchester United’s new signings to fire them back into the top four of the Premier League.
The Red Devils signed Angel di Maria in a British club record £59.7m deal from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, before landing Radamel Falcao on a season-long loan on deadline day.
It has the makings of a great forward line for sure if they gel together
Speaking at a press conference before Sunday’s game against the Red Devils, the QPR manager said that he is confident United will be challenging their rivals for a Champions League spot this season.
“They’ve bought a lot of top players in the transfer window. I’m sure we’ll see Untied challenging to get back into the Champions League places again,” Redknapp said of United.
Asked about the prospect of facing up to the likes of Falcao, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, Redknapp added: “It certainly sounds dangerous! It has the makings of a great forward line for sure if they gel together.
“Di María doesn’t sound too bad either, Mata too. They’ve built a strong team now.”
Redknapp emphasised, however, that his team would not be overawed at Old Trafford: “I was delighted with us last week against Sunderland.
“We’ve got to go up there and compete and make sure we give it a real go.”
