Diego Costa scored his first Chelsea hat-trick as the Blues were thrilling 4-2 winners against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge.

The Spain international, who recovered from a hamstring problem to face the Swans, netted three second-half goals to overturn John Terry’s first-half own goal before late strikes from Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and his replacement Loic Remy.

Here is a selection of the best Twitter reaction from the professionals in chronological order to Costa’s fifth, sixth and seventh goals in four Premier League games!

Former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot (@MarioMelchiot) feels sorry for the Swansea defence: “GOALLLLL! DIEGO COSTA!
It ain’t easy defending him! #mmlove #CFC”

Ex-Manchester United defender Paul McGrath (@Paulmcgrath5): “Costa bags another one for the Blues!”

Former Leicester man Jordan Stewart (@jordanstewart3) sums up the summer signing nicely: “Costa is a beast. @chelseafc #Powwwwwwww”

England legend Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) reckons there is a new Spanish super star in town: “Costa completes his hat-trick. This fella could conceivably out score Torres….in a month!”

Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) highlights why the striker is so good: “Diego Costa HatTrick! 3rd is a typical goalgetter-goal. Everybody watching – Costa moving. 3-1 Chelsea.”

More from Melchiot (@MarioMelchiot): “Boy oh boy this is money well spent!!!!!! GOAL!!!!! Diego Costa’s hat-trick time! #mmlove #CFCLive”

Finally, Kevin Kilbane (@kdkilbane77) sarcastically thanks Jose Mourinho along with many other Fantasy Football players who didn’t opt to pick Blues stars: “Jose has killed my fantasy footy team for the last 2 weeks. #costa #mightnotmakeit”
